In the skin needling procedure, thousands of microscopic holes are created in target areas using a Dermapen. These miniature ‘trauma’ sites produce growth factors and stimulate the creation of new collagen and elastin.
As the skin treated stays intact without becoming injured, the process encourages constructive regeneration. The collagen and elastin may continue to work for a number of months after the skin needling procedure, potentially leading to better results over time.
Dr. Najem recommends three treatments with 6 to 8 weeks between them, alongside PRP. After this initial course, further treatment should be undertaken as an annual maintenance treatment.
